Pizza is considered an universal food by many, and with good reason. Even my grandma, an immigrant from China back in the 30s, and a lady deeply rooted in the traditions and foods of her homeland, could be seen biting into a slice of Hawaiian pizza from time to time. My grandma is cool, right? For me and my husband, a pizza can be a lot of things, party food, college food, comfort food, and sometimes, even gourmet food.
My all-time favorite pizza combo is not so much as a set combination of toppings, but rather how the toppings are delivered. The picture above shows a garlic cream sauce pizza with chicken & artichokes topped off with alfafa sprouts and a dab of blue cheese dressing. Sometimes, I go for an vegetarian pizza instead, but always topped in the same manner--alfafa sprouts + touch of dressing (blue cheese or ranch).
I got used to the stares from neighboring tables on the way I eat my pizza. Sometimes, when I am in the mood, I would angle my decked out piece of art as it makes its way to my mouth to provide my audience a better view. If they can douse their pizzas with powder-dry bottled cheese, I am entitled to my zingy crispy sprouts and rich blue cheese dressing.
So tell me, how do you like your pizza?

I love pizza. I tend to have a Montreal all-dressed. I specify Montreal, because when I go elsewhere and ask for an all-dressed they look at me funny lol. So Montreal all-dressed is: pepperoni, cheese, bell peppers, mushrooms.
I wonder what my server will say if I ask for a Montreal all-dressed here in Sacramento. =)
i don't eat cheese, so i'm always looking for different toppings on my pizza. recently, i've started spreading a thin layer of sauerkraut on my pizza and then baking it. if you like sauerkraut at all, it's freaking awesome!
Miss V-do you avoid cheese altogether? Or can soy cheese be used? Sauerkraut is cool; I eat it on toast sometimes for the mushy-on crispy texture. That sounds almost gross but I enjoyed the combination, so I believe sauerkraut on pizza would work.
I love pizza too. Well, I love the oriental toppings, chicken with BBQ sauce and some veggies. Your mother's choice is also my favorite.
Oh, yum. I love blue cheese.
For pizza, I love almost any topping as long as it's sliced super thin. I think my favorite thing (at least right now) is a white pizza with crispy fried mushrooms and fresh grated parmesan.
OK, it's 10:30 and I want lunch already. :D

Christine - Just a thought after what you said, ever had char siew pizza? Not me, but I'm thinking that might go with spring onions and char siew sauce. Think it would work?
Jessie - Fried mushrooms sounds great on a pizza. I have gotta have bacon with that!
